Spin & Gold - Ranking System - How does the ranking system work?
Players will win or lose points depending on the game's result and the following factors.
- Buy-in
- Player’s rating
- Opponent’s ratings
- Finishing position, eg (1st, 2nd, 6th etc)
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - What is the start date of the Spin & Gold ranking?
This will begin on 1st January 2023.
Any gameplay before this time will not count towards players' rankings.

The ELO rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in games such as Chess. It is named after its creator Arpad Elo, a Hungarian-American physics professor.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - What is the Spin & Gold ranking system?
Each player will have an ELO rating (similar to those used in Chess) based on their performance in Spin & Gold games.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Are there rewards for getting a higher rating?
There are no monetary rewards. However, players can earn badges, trophies and game effects based on their ratings.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Do ratings stay if I don’t play for a while?
As in other games/sports that use ELO ratings, your rating will decay if you are inactive for periods.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - What rating do players start on?
All players start with a rating of 1000.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - A player with a low rating is playing well. Is this legit?
A player's rating may not reflect their actual skill level as it is based on gameplay after 01/01/2023. If a player is new to GGPoker or Spin & Gold games, their rating and skill level may not correlate initially.

As players build a bigger play history, ratings will get more accurate over time.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Will my rating affect who I get seated with?
No, seating will continue in the same way as before(Only refer to this should it be brought up by a player)
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Can I work out what rating points are available before a game starts?
No, The ELO system takes numerous factors into account both pre-game and when the game concludes. This means it would be extremely difficult for a player to calculate what ranking points are on offer.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - I don’t understand why I got so few points for winning a game. Why is this?
As stated, the ELO system is a complex algorithm that takes several factors into account when awarded rating points.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Can I look up other players' ratings?
Yes, all players at the table will have a badge showing their status.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Can I opt out of the rankings?
No, A Spin & Gold rank will be given to all players who play at least 1 Spin & Gold game after 1st January 2023
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Can I hide my ranking from other players?
No, Rankings will be displayed and searchable for all players.
Spin & Gold - Ranking System - Is there a maximum ranking I can achieve?
Whilst there is no theoretical maximum, as your rank increases, you would earn fewer points for each win as your opponents will all have a lower rank.
Once you reach the top places it becomes harder to increase your score, whereas losses have a more significant effect.
