Locating the Interac Reference Number

Upon initiating your Interac transaction, Interac sends a confirmation email for all successful e-transfers. The email address to where Interac sends the confirmation is the one linked to your Bank’s e-Transfer account settings. The email confirmation should arrive in your main inbox, but just encase please also check your spam/ junk/ promotions inbox.

The email confirmation contains the Interac Reference Number required in order to locate the transaction by our payment service provider.

The Interac Reference Number typically looks like this:

  • CA***** (where ***** are 6 numbers/letters)

Should you have misplaced the email confirmation sent by Interac, please contact your Bank’s customer support team who specializes in online purchases, and request for the Interac Reference Number for the transaction in question. This may also be referred to by some financial institutions as the “Access Payment Reference #”.
